Using the finest woods, Jerico Cues makes a cue you can be proud of. The four woods shown above are bocote, ebony, cocobolo, and purpleheart.
These are all exotic hardwoods. Bocote has a golden brown look with very wild grain. Ebony is a highly prized black wood. Very dense & hard, with very little visible grain. This wood is also more expensive. Cocobolo is typically a darker brown than shown above, with orange/red grain highlights. Purpleheart is a fine-grained purple hardwood. Many cuemakers are convinced that purpleheart is best for break & jump cues.
In terms of popularity (beauty), cocobolo is first, with bocote a close second. The ebonies offer striking contrast, making them beautiful from a distance, but the higher price deters some players. You will love breaking & jumping with your Stinger, and you’ll enjoy looking at it. |
